  • The Indian Navy celebrates Navy Day on December 4 to commemorate “Operation Trident,” the Navy’s audacious attack on Karachi harbour during the 1971 War.
  • The theme of Indian Navy Day 2023 is “Operational Efficiency, Readiness and Mission Achievement in the Maritime domain.
  • PM Modi unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot Fort Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot Fort in Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg district.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the Navy Day 2023 celebrations in Sindhudurg. The event, hosted by Admiral R. Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff. The fort was built in 1660 by Maratha Ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
  • The Sindhudurg Fort boasts of India’s rich maritime history. The Maratha empire founder’s seal inspired the new naval ensign that was adopted last year when PM Modi commissioned the first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant.

  • E-commerce giant Amazon’s streaming service Prime Video has signed a four-year deal with the International Cricket Council (ICC) to provide exclusive live broadcast rights in Australia for ICC cricket, which will be available on Prime Video Australia.
  • The partnership will see Prime Video Australia exclusively stream all men’s and women’s events, including the Men’s and Women’s Cricket World Cups, T20 World Cups, Champions Trophy, U19s, and the World Test Championship Final.

Aarogya Maitri Aid Cube

  • World’s First Portable Hospital. The world’s first portable hospital, ‘Aarogya Maitri Aid Cube’, was unveiled recently in Gurugram.
  • Aarogya Maitri Aid Cube is the world’s first portable hospital. Designed indigenously under Project BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog Hita and Maitri), the modular trauma management and aid system is made up of 72 detachable minicubes, each being a specialized station for emergency response and humanitarian efforts.
  • It contains medical equipment and supplies such as a mini-ICU,an operation theatre, cooking station, food, water, a power generator, blood test equipment, an X-ray machine, and more.
  • It can treat as many as 200 patients.
  • These cubes are light and portable, and can be rapidly deployed anywhere, from airdrops to ground transportation.
